What is b-panel® ?
b-panel® is an innovative construction system for all types of structures.
The basic construction of b-panel® is a composite material made of expanded polystyrene layer sandwiched in between layers of especially-designed reinforced concrete. This design offers superior thermal, acoustic insulation properties and earthquake resistance, plus other compelling benefits.
What is b-panel® made of?
1. b-foam® EPS (Expanded polystyrene)
- b-foam® EPS core sandwiched between two sheets of Wiremeshes.
- Moisture resistant and waterproof.
- Performs as an acoustic and thermal insulator, and as form-work when the concrete is being poured onto the floor panel.
2. Welded Wiremesh
- Non galvanized wiremesh (3 mm diameter).
- The spacing between welded wires is 8cm x 15cm.
- Performs as reinforcement to the concrete.
3. Connector Wire
- Connector wire is welded to the wiremesh.
- Acts as the connector between the two sheets of wiremesh, it is set through the b-foam® EPS. Made of galvanized wire.

- b-panel® advantages, is b-panel® suitable for my project? »»
What are the advantages of using b-panel® ?
1. Superior thermal insulation (Up to 93% heat transfer reduction). Saves A/C electricity.
2. Effective acoustic barrier (minimum STC 42, for 10 cm wall thickness)a
3. Light weight (130 kg/m2 for 15 cm thickness wall)
4. High Strength
- • Earthquake resistant - lightweight monolithic structure prevents catastropic failure.
- • Against burglary / break-in.
- • Wall can be used to hang objects, such as pictures and furnitures.
5. Fire resistant (rated at 120 minutes at 1,000oC)b
6. Protect room from outside humidity
7. Competitively priced
8. Rapid installation
- • Panel arrive at your project already prefabricated at our factory
- • Light weight prefab panel (only 5 kg/m2) for easy handling by construction crews.
- • Concrete spraying using state-of-the-art machinery
Is b-panel® suitable for my project? Who can take advantage from its qualities?
b-panel® is well suited for anyone who needs a building construction system that is energy efficient, robust, and lightweight.
In particular, those who seek superior thermal and acoustic insulation in the wall, roof and floor. b-panel® is the solution.

What about the mortar used for b-panel® plastering?
The desired concrete quality is K 225 kg/cm2.
The composition is
Portland Cement : Sand = 1 : 4, + fibre additive (Dosage : 0.6-0.8 kg/m3).
Is it possible to build curved walls with b-panel® ?
Yes, you can use b-panel® to build curved walls. We recommend using cutting list to give more accurate measurements for the desired curve. Maximum width of the b-panel® that can be used is 60 cm.
The steps are:
- • Kindly send us the drawing, our Engineers will create the cutting list.
- • Once produced, the panels can then be installed based on that.
- • Each b-panel® should be interconnected using flat wiremeshes.

- About EPS and the b-foam® EPS used in b-panel® »»
What is EPS?
Expanded polystyrene (EPS), or commonly known as Styrofoam*, is a light-weight and rigid insulation material, made of plastic substance. EPS is produced from polystyrene beads heated by steam until it expands, then molded to meet specific application requirements.
How many types [of EPS] are there?
Based on the type of the materials used, there are 2 types of EPS:
1. Regular (RG)
- Ordinary EPS.
- Easily combusted.
- Fire conductor.
2. Fire Retardant (FR)
- Self extinguishing.
- Combusted only when in direct contact with fire.
- Fire retarding.
* Styrofoam is trademark of The Dow Chemical Company.
What is the EPS type used in b-panel® ?
EPS used in b-panel® is the b-foam® of Fire Retardant (FR) type, in order to enhance the safety standard of b-panel® buildings.

- EPS density, insulation and density on b-panel® »»
What does the EPS Density mean?
EPS is available in various kinds of densities.
Density represents the weight of the EPS (in kg) for every 1 m3, therefore the density unit is kg/m3.
Density related to thermal and acoustic insulation capability of EPS. Higher density means the EPS has better capability in sound proofing and thermal insulation.
Which factors enhance the thermal and acoustic capability of b-panel® ?
There are some cases that affect b-panel® capability of thermal and acoustic insulation, such as:
1. EPS Density
- The higher density of the EPS,
- the better thermal and acoustic insulation achieved.
2. EPS thickness
- The thicker EPS layer,
- the better thermal and acoustic insulation achieved.
The standard density of EPS used in b-panel® ?
b-panel® uses EPS with standard density of ± 12 kg/m3.
